Nnamdi Ofoborh signs professional deal

AFC Bournemouth under-18s midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh has signed his first professional contract.

The 18-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club after impressing in the under-18s and under-21s squads since arriving in summer 2016.

As well as training with the first team, Ofoborh travelled with Eddie Howe's squad to the recent away trip to Swansea City.

Upon signing his professional contract, the under-18s man is now looking forward to the next goal he can achieve with the football club.

He said: "I'm so happy, it's a dream come true it really is.

"I've been waiting for a professional contract for a long time, I've worked extremely hard.

"I was released from two clubs before I was lucky enough to get a trial here and I haven't looked back.

"It hasn't been easy, I've lost family members and friends so it's been tough time recently, but it spurs you on. Getting released by clubs was big as when I got my trial here I worked so hard to prove myself.

"I've trained with the first team and they're lovely guys, they've helped me fit in perfectly and I've got good exposure.

"Hopefully I can continue to be around the first team, keep learning from the likes of Lewis Cook, Andrew Surman, Harry Arter and pick stuff up.

"My next goal is to nail down a centre midfield role, that's where I'm alive in the game - I have a lot to learn but that's a real long term goal for me."
