Earlier this week, around 300 Junior Cherries were invited to Vitality Stadium to play football on the same pitch as their heroes.

Ahead of the event, the children, who were aged between four and 16, were given the opportunity to walk out onto the pitch through the tunnel just as Eddie Howe’s squad do every other weekend.

With their families in the stand, it was a great occasion for the youngsters, with Cherry Bear also in attendance to sign autographs and pose for photos.

Small sided games took place throughout the afternoon, with the event run by AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust.

Following the event, head of community Steve Cuss spoke with afcb.co.uk.

“We were delighted to welcome the Junior Cherries on to the main pitch at the Vitality Stadium,” he began.

“It was great to see all the young children enjoying themselves in what was a memorable experience.”
