AFC Bournemouth are giving away a free, reusable water bottle to every Junior Cherries member.

The offer comes as the club continues to explore ways to tackle environmental issues, including plastic pollution.

Branded with the AFC Bournemouth logo and Junior Cherries wording, the refillable bottles are available to collect from the Superstore at Vitality Stadium.

The offer is limited to one bottle per Junior Cherries member, and to take advantage all our young supporters have to do is show their Junior Cherries membership card to staff behind the tills at the Superstore.

“Football clubs play a huge role in society and the local community, so it is crucial that we lead the way when it comes to important campaigns such as environmental issues,” explained AFC Bournemouth chief executive, Neill Blake.

“We are constantly making small changes to the club which, once added together, will hopefully make a big difference to the environment, and we would encourage our fans to do the same.

“Attempting to eliminate single-use plastics is one of those changes, and that is why we are providing our Junior Cherries with these free, refillable bottles.”

Premier League executive director, Bill Bush, said: “The Premier League acknowledges that environmental issues such as plastic pollution affect us all, and our fans expect us to do what we can to address this threat.

“We want to use our reach to fans here and across the world to spread the word that each and every one of us can make a difference by choosing to use less plastic.

"It's great to hear the steps AFC Bournemouth are taking in encouraging fans to tackle this issue, and we hope the Junior Cherries take the club up on the offer.”

The water bottle offer is just one of a number that Junior Cherries can benefit from, with local organisations also providing some great deals:

At Hot Rocks Restaurant on the sea front, Junior Cherries can get a children’s meal for just £1 for each adult ordering a main course. Hot Rocks will then donate the £1 to Julia's House Children's Hospice.

Splashdown Water Park are also offering £3 off entry at any time.

Finally, Lemur Landings, an indoor soft play area for under-12s, offer £2 off entry at any time at Tower Park.
