First team deliver Christmas Party treat

The AFC Bournemouth first-team squad gave Junior Cherries an unforgettable Christmas present at the annual Junior Cherries Christmas Party.

Management duo Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall joined the first-team at the Bournemouth International Centre to meet the club’s young fans, pose for photos and sign autographs for around 400 children.

And those children were also treated to a host of other activities, including the extremely talented Steve Gray (a freestyle footballer), Alfie the Illusionist and Jamie Jigsaw wowing with their skills, as well as Bournemouth University’s batak reaction board and Cherries face painting.

One of the biggest days in the Junior Cherries’ event calendar, boss Howe was delighted to see so many of the club’s young supporters turn up and interact with his team.

“Obviously we value our work in the community massively,” Howe explained.

“The Junior Cherries are our future supporters and it’s great for – not just me – but our players to meet them and let them know how valuable their support is.

“To see so many children here and the level of support and enthusiasm they bring, was really gratifying and is so much appreciated and in turn it was good for the squad to be able to put some smiles on their faces just before Christmas.”

The club would like to thank Junior Cherries partners - Hot Rocks, Splashdown, Lemur Landings, Bournemouth University and Tops Day Nurseries.
