Club Recipe: Easy Flatbreads

The hospitality and events team from AFC Bournemouth are here again with a versatile recipe you can suit to any taste.


For the dough

  • 350g Self raising flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 350g natural yoghurt
  • 1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder

For the topping

  • 2 Cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 40g Butter
  • A bunch of fresh herbs chopped (parsley, dill, tarragon or basil)
  • Any other toppings of preference


  1. Start on the flatbread by mixing the flour, yoghurt and baking powder
  2. Dust a clean surface with some self raising flour then pop the dough on top and knead for a minute to bring it together
  3. Place the dough to one side in a flour-dusted bowl and cover with a clean cloth
  4. Melt the butter over a low heat and stir through the garlic along with some chopped herbs, then pop this to the side when done
  5. Dust a clean surface with flour then divide the dough into approximately 12 balls (all the size of golf balls)
  6. Then, with your hand flatten each ball of dough and using a rolling pin dusted with flour, roll each ball to about 12cm round with a thickness of roughly 2mm to 3mm
  7. Use a knife to cut six lines into each portion of dough leaving 3cm at each end
  8. Heat a griddle pan or frying pan then when hot, cook the dough for 1-2 minutes on each side, then remove from the pan, brush each flatbread with the garlic and herb butter
  9. Add any other toppings that you'd like
