AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

The first month of the season has flown by, and now we're asking you to help us choose our player of the month for August.

Sponsored by Michael Matthews, four standout players have been nominated for the award - and you can pick your worthy winner by voting in our Twitter poll.

First up, Philip Billing has begun the new campaign much as ended the last, his impressive form seeing him earn a recall for the most recent Denmark squad.

A late-July goal in the 5-0 win over MK Dons was followed up by successive strikes in the Cherries' first two Championship fixtures of the campaign, the second a winner in the under-manned win away at Nottingham Forest.

If winger Jaidon Anthony initiated his breakthrough from academy graduate to first team performer last season, this season he has stamped his name into head coach Scott Parker's team sheet.

The 21-year-old has started all five of the Cherries' league matches so far this season - the first EFL starts of his career - as well as netting a man of the match prize and his first senior goal when he pounced on a knockdown at a corner away to Birmingham City.

Inseparable off the pitch, Anthony's success has been mirrored by that of house mate Jordan Zemura, the two young guns sprouting dynamism and creativity down the left flank.

Zemura has also started the campaign with the first five EFL starts of his career and has looked entirely at home in the left-back role. Playing a big part in the side's two clean sheets, the Zimbabwean causes plenty of his own danger with his bustling runs into the opposition's box.

Leading the line expertly throughout an unbeaten first month, Dominic Solanke not only showed his ability to link the play for others, but has also netted three goals of his own.

The striker was another who got his season started with a opening season strike in the Carabao Cup, but into August it was Solanke's strength-filled run and cool finish that set the visiting side on their way to victory at Birmingham City, then scoring a brilliant double days later back at Vitality Stadium against Blackpool.

To have your say and ensure your favoured player wins the monthly award, visit our Twitter page now and vote in our poll.

The club would like to thank Michael Matthews for their continued support of the club's player of the month award.
