AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of midfielder Todd Cantwell.

The talented 23-year-old has joined the Cherries on a loan deal until the end of the season. Experienced in the top two tiers of English football, Cantwell has made 110 appearances for Norwich City, scoring 14 goals.

With three promotions to his name in his career so far, he has represented England under-21s on four occasions.

His professional debut came in an FA Cup tie with Chelsea in January 2018, before joining Fortuna Sittard on a loan until the end of the season, helping the Dutch team win promotion to the Eredivisie.

His breakthrough at Carrow Road came in the 2018/19 season, playing 27 times as Norwich won promotion to the Premier League.

Cantwell shone on his debut season in the top-flight, scoring seven goals in 40 games in all competitions before the skilful midfielder contributed to 14 goals in last season’s Championship-winning team.

After the former England under-21 international finalised his deal at Vitality Stadium, Chief Executive Officer Neill Blake commented on the five new signings through the door on transfer deadline day.

“We are delighted with the business we have done today and in the window as a whole," he said.

"We have signed five excellent players who add significant quality to our squad. All of those coming into the club today perfectly fit the profile of player we were looking for, and I’ve no doubt they will hit the ground running here.

"As with James Hill and Ethan Laird earlier this month, these players had many other options but have chosen to join us which speaks volumes for the club, Scott Parker and the direction we are moving in.”
