Time to vote for your September POTM

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

Unbeaten for a second straight month in the league, help us pick our Player of the Month winner for September.

Sponsored by Michael Matthews, there have been a high number of players in line for the award with just two points dropped across five Championship games - the high-performing squad being whittled down to our four nominees.

You can have your say and help to crown a worthy candidate by voting in the Twitter post below.

Reigning Player of the Month Jordan Zemura followed up a brilliant debut month as a starter with a stunning sophomore September.

The first match of the month, a 3-0 win over Barnsley, belonged to the left-back who opened the scoring with his first Championship goal, then sealing the points with a cooly-taken second late on at Vitality Stadium.

In goal, Mark Travers has become more and more commanding as the campaign has progressed and added three more clean sheets to his seasonal tally along the way last month.

The Ireland international has conceded less than a goal per game in 2021/22, and put in a standout performance when making a string of fine saves against QPR to ensure three points were secured in a tight home win.

There was no doubting the experience of the 61-cap Gary Cahill upon his arrival this summer, but his reading of the game and bravery as a defender have spread to those around him since he made his Cherries debut to start September.

Just two goals were conceded, with virtually every tackle, block and header feeling decisive as the Cherries ended the month at the top of the table.

Dominic Solanke is up to eight goals for the season already, and there was no let up to his scoring last month, with strikes coming against Barnsley, QPR and Luton Town earning an extra six points for the side.

The striker has started the new month with a bang too, winning and netting the Cherries' first penalty of the year on Saturday against Sheffield United.

To have your say and ensure your favoured player wins the monthly award, visit our Twitter page now and vote in our poll.

The club would like to thank Michael Matthews for their continued support of the club's player of the month award.
