Three in action in final round of internationals

Three AFC Bournemouth players got international minutes under their belts as the latest round of fixtures came to a close.

One of those was centre-back Chris Mepham, who played the full 90 minutes in Wales’ 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands.

In what was almost a carbon copy of their previous meeting with Oranje, Rob Page’s side bagged a leveller in injury time only for a Dutch winner to be scored moments later.

Goals from Noa Lang and Cody Gakpo had given the home side the lead at Feyenoord’s De Kuip ahead of Brennan Johnson teeing up a comeback.

The forward placed a strike into the bottom left corner from the edge of the box before a Gareth Bale penalty drew the two nations level two minutes into second-half injury time.

Mephis Depay then repeated what Wout Weghorst had done six days previously and put Louis van Gaal’s team back in front before injury time was over.

The result leaves Mepham’s Wales bottom in the UEFA Nations League's group 4 of league A with one point from four matches.

Another Cherries player to feature for 90 minutes was Nathan Moriah-Welsh, as Guyana lost 6-0 away to Haiti in the CONCACAF Nations League.

Four different scorers for Haiti at the Estadio Felix Sanchez in the Dominican Republic consigned the Golden Jaguars to their second Nations League defeat.

With the scoreline at 2-0 early in the second half, Kelsey Benjamin was shown red for Guyana ahead of a further four goals for the Red and Blue.

The result sees Moriah-Welsh’s side finish the latest round of international fixtures second in group B of league B with two wins from four games.

Elsewhere, Gavin Kilkenny and Ireland U21s faced a crunch clash with Italy to qualify for their first-ever finals of the UEFA U21 European Championship.

A 4-1 defeat to the Italians, however, means that Lee Carsley’s side will face the play-offs to qualify for the tournament.

Featuring for 62 minutes before being replaced by West Ham’s Mipo Odubeko, Kilkenny left the field shortly following Conor Coventry’s consolation goal.

The win for the insatiable Italians at the Stadio Cino e Lillo Del Duca saw them top their qualification group for the U21 European Championship.

Alongside the three to get international minutes, three other Bournemouth players went unused by their nations.

Mark Travers was one, not making it off the bench in Ireland’s 1-1 draw against Ukraine with Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher starting between the sticks.

The point sees the Boys in Green finish the round of fixtures third in the Nations League’s group 1 of league B.

Ryan Christie was also an unused substitute in the same group as Scotland claimed a 4-1 win away to Armenia, with the hosts being reduced to nine men in the game.

The win leaves Steve Clarke’s side second in their group after three matches, trailing Ukraine by a point.

Jamal Lowe’s Jamaica completes the list of sides with fixtures, but the forward wasn't present in their matchday squad.

The Reggae Boyz faced Mexico in their CONCACAF Nations League tie and picked up a 1-1 draw at the National Stadium in Kingston.
