Team news: Stanislas sidelined for Luton & beyond

Junior Stanislas will be missing for at least a month with an ankle injury after limping out of Tuesday's draw with Millwall.

That's according to manager Jason Tindall, who reported on Stanislas' injury ahead of the weekend match with Luton Town.

"It's a shame, unfortunately Junior hobbled off as we saw on Tuesday night," said the manager. "He's done some damage in his ankle, it's not as bad as we first feared, which is the good news. But we're going to still be without him for a period of time.

"How long that is it's probably too early to say, but it will probably be at least a month. It's a big blow for us considering how well Junior was doing for the team and the impact he's had.

"Junior's had his injury problems over the years and he's always bounced back and come back strong. He's a strong-minded character, he knows what he needs to do to get himself back and he'll use that time to work extremely hard to make sure when he comes back he continues where he left off.

"Like in life, and certainly in football, when one door closes another one opens. It's an opportunity now for someone else to come into the team and show their quality and hopefully they can take that.

"We've got a good squad and whoever comes in now and takes Junior's place it's down to them now to show their quality."

Positive injury news came from the return to training for key duo Chris Mepham and Arnaut Danjuma, with Tindall explaining that both are hoped to back between the lines in the not too distant future.

"Really good to have both the guys back," he said. "We're starting to get the bodies back now. Cameron Carter-Vickers, Chris Mepham, Jack Stacey, Arnaut Danjuma - and Josh King is now sharp and fit.

"With Chris Mepham and Danjuma, it's great to have those two guys back out on the training ground joining in. They're both very close to being back involved with the squad, whether that's tomorrow, we'll have to wait and see, but it's certainly good to have them back.

"Thankfully there were no concerns other than Junior after Millwall. Dan Gosling picked up a knock before that but he'll be back in the early part of next week."
