Junior Stanislas came through his Reading cameo well and is fit and ready to go for Tuesday's match with Sheffield Wednesday.

The midfielder made his return from a three-match ankle injury absence at the Madejski Stadium in the final ten minutes, soon scoring a consolation for the Cherries with a free-kick.

In his pre-match press conference manager Jason Tindall spoke about the return of Stanislas and the fitness in the rest of his squad.

"Jun, just before he picked up his injury, was in fantastic form for us," Tindall started. "He's such an important player for the team and he's a player that you want available and you want playing because of the quality that he brings.

"He was on the bench and if I'm honest I was a bit worried when I was putting him on because I knew he hadn't really done much training since he picked up his ankle injury and was probably still not 100% fit.

"It was great to put him on and have that quality on the pitch and I felt that with Lewis Cook and Jack Wilshere those three did extremely well together."

Despite the recent deluge of matches, Tindall reported back that on a positive fitness situation in his squad, with Tuesday's key Championship fixture with Wednesday now firmly on the horizon.

Chris Mepham was another returning positive from the weekend, the defender playing 90 minutes after recovering from a minor injury.

"We have no knocks or bruises to worry about, which is always a good thing," he said. "Pretty much everyone's fit and I'm looking forward now to choose from a fit squad tomorrow.

"We're really pleased to have Meps back, we see how important he was for the team when he's playing and he's fit, we also saw how much he was missed when we didn't have him around.

"It was great to have him out there against Reading, albeit having only had one or two training sessions with the group.

"He was cramping up quite early in the second half but it goes to show the character he has that without a lot of training behind him he made himself available for the game and went out there and played."
