AFC Bournemouth head coach Scott Parker has revealed new defender Marcos Senesi is available for selection for this weekend’s trip to Manchester City.

The Argentina international joined from Feyenoord on Monday and Parker has revealed the 25-year-old is settling in nicely at Vitality Stadium.

Speaking with the media ahead of the trip to Manchester, he said: “I’m pleased we’ve managed to get Marcos in, a player we’ve had our eye on. He’s a South American defender in the sense that he’s an aggressive, front foot defender.

“He’s come off a bit of a slow week, in terms of last week, because of the transfer and this week we’ve progressed him slowly. We don’t want to rush him in but for sure, he’s going to be involved.”

Senesi wasn’t the only new addition this week as experienced goalkeeper Neto made the move from Barcelona on Sunday and Parker has been impressed with the duo.

“It’s difficult when you come in from different countries, different environments, different cultures. I’m very conscious on how players settle in and sometimes it can be quite daunting.

“I think this is quite an easy environment to come into, a young squad, and both boys seem to have hit the ground running.”

Parker did confirm that the debuts of Ryan Fredericks and Joe Rothwell will have to wait as the pair continue to miss out through injury.

He commented: “Ryan’s come on a little bit, he’s out on the grass with us and he’s pushing ahead in the right direction. He’s probably a few weeks away from being fully integrated into training.

“Joe’s a little bit behind that and is still not out on the grass at this moment in time. He’s progressing in the right way but given where his injury was, this is where he currently is. They’ll both miss the weekend.”
