Team news: Latest Kelly & Long injury news

Lloyd Kelly is set to miss around two weeks with an ankle injury, ruling him out of Saturday's match with Brentford.

The defender needed to be replaced in the first half of the Cherries' 4-1 win at Millwall on Wednesday, replaced by Diego Rico.

Bournemouth host the fellow play-off contenders from London in a 12.30pm kick-off, knowing that a point would guarantee them their spot in the post-season push for the third promotion place.

Head coach Jonathan Woodgate explained the situation with Kelly and striker Shane Long in his pre-match press conference.

He said: "Apart from Shane Long, who'll be a couple of weeks and Lloyd Kelly who's also out for a couple of weeks, we're okay - as well as Lewis Cook who's out for the season.

"Diego's done well when he's come in. Lloyd's done exceptionally well, and has made a great partnership with Arnaut Danjuma down the left-hand side.

"It's a chance for Diego to come in, he's an experienced player so I'm looking forward to seeing him play."

The Cherries go into the game aiming for an eighth straight league victory, a mark that would be a joint club record if a win can be secured against the Bees.

"I just want to finish as high as we can up the table and if we beat records then we beat them," said Woodgate.

"We know it's going to be very difficult against a Brentford team who are second top scorers in the league, they've won a lot of games this season and are hard to beat, they lost one in 12, we know what it's going to be like.

"It's slightly different team from previous years and they play in a slightly different way, bring it on."
