Team news: Kerkez appeal rejected

AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has confirmed that the club’s appeal of Milos Kerkez’s red card against Wolves has been unsuccessful.

The 20-year-old was sent off against Wolves for a sliding tackle on Matt Doherty with the Cherries defending superbly after his dismissal to get the three points.

But he will now miss the next three games, with Iraola’s side also carrying a few knocks from Wednesday’s victory at Molineux.

“They answered straight away and he will serve the three game suspension,” he started.

“I had my hopes, I don’t feel like it’s a red card.

“To overturn a decision, I’ve seen it in Spain, it has to be super clear but it hasn’t happened.

“We finished Wednesday with a couple of knocks, not massive injuries but some need time to recover.”

Elsewhere, Iraola hasn’t decided on his team to face Brighton & Hove Albion yet, including whether to play either Mark Travers or Neto in goal.

Travers started his first Premier League game of the campaign against Wolves and was in impressive form.

He continued: “I haven’t made a decision yet.

“Sometimes I decide the morning of the game, I wait until I’ve seen them in training and those last feelings I have.

“Neto has been very good, he has played well, but I wanted to see Mark as in training he’s shown he’s a very good keeper.”
