Team news: Kelly, Stanislas & Daniels updates

In the midst of a busy schedule of matches, Jason Tindall offers the latest news from his squad with Sunday's Norwich City match next up.

A couple of worries emerged from Thursday's Carabao Cup tie away at Manchester City, defender Lloyd Kelly replaced in the first half, while goalkeeper Mark Travers required lengthy treatment after a hard coming together with Liam Delap.

In his pre-match press conference Tindall explained the situations of the pair.

"Unfortunately, Lloyd felt his hamstring tighten up. Hopefully that's not too serious, but it's one that's going to be assessed today and then again tomorrow. We'll have to make a late call on it depending on what the outcome is of that," he said.

"Mark Travers, when he took the whack that he did it was a heart-in-the-mouth moment and at the time I was expecting the worse.

"It was really good to see him get back up on his feet and be able to complete the game. Up to now I've heard nothing to tell me that he's suffered any problems."

Missing from the last three games having started the opening-day win against Blackburn, Junior Stanislas is planning a return soon, potentially even this weekend.

Tindall said: "Junior picked up the niggle that he had but we're not expecting that to keep him out for too long. Again, we'll assess it at the end of the day and tomorrow to see where he is for the weekend.

"If he's not available for this weekend then hopefully he should be back in some kind of training for us next week."

In longer term news, Charlie Daniels is this weekend set to make the latest step up in his return from serious injury, having not played competitively since August 2019.

"Chaz has been training with us off the back of his injury," explained Tindall. "First and foremost, we needed to make sure he wasn't rushed back at any point and that he ticked off each box as he went along.

"He's done very well, has had a really good ten days of training. We had a chat on Tuesday regarding moving forwards and getting some minutes and he's going to be involved with the under-21s away at Yeovil this weekend. Hopefully that will be another box ticked off and he comes through the game with no problems.

"It's been a long time for Charlie, the nature of the injury means he's been out for the long term. He's been working extremely hard on the training ground with the physios and Dan Hodges and his team and most recently back in training.

"So far there have been no setbacks, but it'll be another big test for him against Yeovil this weekend. Hopefully he'll come through and we'll assess his situation again after that."
