Team news: Fraser a doubt for Foxes

Written by Iain Pearce

Eddie Howe has said that Ryan Fraser is a doubt for Saturday’s home match with Leicester City after picking up a hamstring injury during the international break.

The 24-year-old won his third cap in Scotland’s match with Belgium at Hampden Park last weekend but came back to Dorset with the muscle concern.

Howe gave feedback on his winger’s injury while also saying that striker Joshua King has returned to the squad fit but that left-back Charlie Daniels, who missed the most recent Premier League game against Chelsea, remains on the sidelines.

He said: “Ryan Fraser had a hamstring problem so has been working with our medical team since he returned here, Joshua King played two games for Norway but came through no problem.

“Charlie Daniels picked up a niggle, he has a knee problem and we’ve not seen him during the international break. Kyle Taylor is back and fit which is a positive.”

Midfielder Junior Stanislas continues his comeback from a knee injury, with the Cherries manager seeing strides being taken on the training pitches.

“Junior is still working his way back to fitness,” he said. “A big positive for us was that he came back into training during the international break; we did a maximal test and he came first in that. He won’t be ready for this weekend but we’re pleased with his progress.

“We’ve been working hard, we gave the lads a break in the first week but since they returned they’ve worked really well, we’ve made a good use of the break.”
