TEAM NEWS: Debuts for Neto and Greenwood

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth pair Neto and Ben Greenwood make their debuts for the club in the Carabao Cup second round tie against Norwich City this evening.

Neto had previously been on the bench in the Premier League against Manchester City and Arsenal since signing from Barcelona, but will be in the from the off at Carrow Road.

Greenwood, an under-21s defender, has been with academy since the 2018/19 campaign and has been rewarded for his progression with a start against the Championship side.

The full-back is one of nine changes to head coach Scott Parker’s starting XI, with Ben Pearson and Marcos Senesi both starting against the Gunners on Saturday.

The bench is full of Cherries academy talent with Brooklyn Genesini, Chris Francis, Owen Bevan, Jack Wadham, Dominic Sadi and Ferdinand Okoh all hoping for the opportunity to make their debut.

In total, Parker's squad boasts ten academy graduates.

Elsewhere, the Cherries will come up against former loanee Todd Cantwell, who starts for the hosts this evening.

On the bench for Norwich, they name Dan Barden. The goalkeeper is in the squad for the first time since being diagnosed with testicular cancer in October 2021.
