Team news: Brooks ready & available

David Brooks is back and ready for selection ahead of Saturday's game at home to Derby County.

The midfielder hasn't appeared for the Cherries since the last international break when he picked up a knock with Wales, but after some intensive rehabilitation is now fit and raring to go again.

Manager Jason Tindall spoke about the player and the boost his return gives his squad in his pre-match press conference.

"Brooksy's in the squad and available," he said. "As I've said for the last couple of weeks, I think it was important that he trained really hard to get himself in a place where when he's back involved he stays fit and involved.

"I feel he's where he needs to be at this time and he's back in the squad for tomorrow.

"It's a big boost for everyone, for the football club in general it's a boost to have a player of Brooksy's quality and ability available to be back involved with the squad."

Also closing in on the first team is loan signing Cameron Carter-Vickers, yet to play for his new side but now at a point where the manager is increasingly satisfied with his readiness.

He explained: "I've been really pleased with Cam, with any new player that comes here it's important that they understand what's expected from them in their position.

"Also that they know what we expect from the team's point of view, and there are certain things that they have to do to make sure that when they come in they come in and they make a difference and they're ready.

"Cam's had a really good week's training, we've got some really good work into him and I think he's very close to being at a level where he's ready to play."

There was further positive news on Adam Smith, the full-back coming through the Wednesday win over Bristol City unscathed having missed last weekend's match due to a minor complaint picked up at Cardiff City.

"He came though very well," said Tindall. "Anyone that saw the game and looked at the performance he delivered, I thought he was excellent on the night.

"It was a wholehearted performance as always from Adam and thankfully for us he came through the game with no problems."

With the second-place Cherries joining leaders Reading as the only two unbeaten sides remaining in the Championship, Tindall set out his continued vision for wins and not just avoiding defeat in upcoming matches.

"The only pressure is the pressure that we put on ourselves, we want to remain unbeaten for as long as possible," he told the media.

"We set ourselves up to go out and win every game that we play, that's what we've done so far this season and in any game we approach. With tomorrow's game against Derby being our next one, it will be no different."
