Adam Smith will today carve his name indelibly in the AFC Bournemouth record books by becoming the first player to make 200 Premier League appearances for the club.

Smith will reach the landmark after being named in the Cherries starting line-up by head coach Andoni Iraola for the visit of Everton to Vitality Stadium (3pm kick-off).

He joined the Cherries in a permanent move from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2014 having played 38 games in League One during a youth loan for the Dorset club in 2010/11.

A bargain signing at £250,000, the versatile defender has played a key role in two promotions to the Premier League and is tenth in the list of the Cherries’ all-time appearance-makers.

Smith, who has skippered the Cherries on a number of occasions, scored his first goal in the top flight during an eventful 3-3 draw with today’s visitors Everton in November 2015.

His tally of 332 league appearances for the club includes 199 in the Premier League with Steve Cook in second place on 168.

Iraola makes four changes against the Toffees with midfielder Tyler Adams coming in to make his full Premier League debut for the Cherries.

Adams, who netted a stunning strike on international duty for the United States against Mexico, made an impressive cameo after coming off the bench in the 4-3 win over Luton Town 17 days ago.

Milos Kerkez, Marcus Tavernier and Justin Kluivert also start, while Lloyd Kelly and Max Aarons make a welcome return to the bench having recovered from their respective injuries.

Aarons has not featured since suffering a hamstring injury against Liverpool in January, while Kelly has been sidelined since February due to a similar problem.

AFC Bournemouth: Neto, Kerkez, Cook, Mepham, Solanke, Smith, Tavernier, Adams, Kluivert, Semenyo, Zabarnyi.

Subs: Travers (g/k), Kelly, Faivre, Ouattara, Scott, Hill, Ünal, Billing, Aarons.
