Solanke wins Premier League Player of the Month

AFC Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for December.

The Cherries man has been rewarded for a sensational run of form that saw him score six goals in six matches.

Solanke netted in the month's opening game against Aston Villa before opening the scoring at Old Trafford, as the Cherries claimed a famous 3-0 win over Manchester United.

His best performance of the month came against Nottingham Forest where he scored his first career hat-trick, including a dramatic 94th minute winner.

The 26-year-old stepped up to the penalty spot to take the Cherries' first penalty in 609 days, netting his sixth goal of the month in the 3-0 win over Fulham.

Teammate Marcos Senesi was also nominated for the award and Solanke saw off further competition from Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Matheus Cunha (Wolves), Mohammed Kudus (West Ham), Michael Olise (Crystal Palace), Cole Palmer (Chelsea) and Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur).

In winning the award, Solanke becomes the first-ever AFC Bournemouth player to be named the Premier League Player of the Month.
