Solanke up for Championship Goal of the Month

Dominic Solanke has been nominated for the SkyBet Championship’s Goal of the Month award.

His strike against Fulham in the side’s first game of December is up for the accolade, with voting to take place on the league’s official Twitter page.

Solanke’s goal came just six seconds into the half at Craven Cottage, as Philip Billing’s long ball forward picked him out straight from kick-off.

The striker did the rest after letting the ball bounce and fired beyond Marek Rodak in front of a lively away following.

Solanke is up for the award alongside Birmingham’s Troy Deeney, who smartly finished a one-two against Millwall the following day, and Sorba Thomas, who collected the ball on the touchline and drove into the six-yard box, slotting it home coolly for Huddersfield against Blackpool on Boxing Day.

Voting will close on Monday, with the winner to be formally announced by the EFL next Friday.
