AFC Bournemouth can announce that striker Dominic Solanke has signed a long-term contract extension that will keep him at Vitality Stadium until June 2026.

The frontman played a starring role as the Cherries returned to the Premier League after finishing as runners-up in the Championship last season.

Solanke, who joined the club from Liverpool in January 2019, plundered 29 goals and seven assists as Scott Parker’s team clinched promotion with a game to spare.

It took his impressive record in the Championship to 44 goals and 18 assists in 85 appearances, Solanke starting all 46 league games last season.

The 24-year-old, who was capped by England in 2017, was named in the Sky Bet Championship team of the season and the PFA team of the season last campaign – and was also nominated for the divisional player of the year award.

Solanke’s stunning strike against Fulham in December was voted the club’s goal of the season, while he had the second-highest number of shots (164) and clear-cut chances scored (21) in the Championship.

He also scooped the club’s Strategic Solutions goal of the month award for November, December and March. He has netted 49 goals in 139 games in all competitions for the Cherries.

Neill Blake, AFC Bournemouth Chief Executive, told the club website: “This is a big moment for AFC Bournemouth.

"Dom was pivotal to our success last year and to secure his future with us is a significant signal of intent from the club.

"He is a highly impressive individual both on and off the pitch and the fact he has chosen to sign this deal speaks volumes for us as a football club.

"We are all excited to continue working with Dom and look forward to seeing him operate at the very top level where he belongs.”
