Solanke nominated for PFA award

AFC Bournemouth frontman Dominic Solanke has been nominated for the PFA and Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Year in the Championship.

Having started in all 46 league outings during the 2021/22 season, the former Liverpool man had a prolific campaign, firing in 29 goals.

Seven assists accompanied the goal tally, making the 24-year-old the second-highest goal scorer and goal contributor in the league.

Solanke’s return has now seen him shortlisted alongside five other Championship players for the PFA award.

The other nominees are Aleksandar Mitrovic and Harry Wilson (Fulham), Billy Sharp (Sheffield United), Ben Brereton-Diaz (Blackburn Rovers) and Andreas Weimann (Bristol City.

Supporters can now vote for the winner of the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Year award here.

The voting closes at 12pm on 27th May, with the winner announce the following week on 31st May.
