Ryan Allsop made his first Premier League start of the season at Leicester City and played a key part in claiming a point that meant a top-ten Cherries finish.

Junior Stanislas gave the away side a first-minute lead and while Jamie Vardy restored parity after the interval, some good Allsop saves meant Bournemouth secured their draw and a ninth place finish.

"I felt I did well," Allsop told afcb.co.uk after the game. "I was a bit rusty but I eased into the game and grew in confidence and on the whole I was pleased.

"I work hard in training to make saves and I've put a lot of hours in on the training pitch this season improving my game with Neil Moss, the gaffer and Anthony White.

"That stood me in good stead to go out today and perform as well as I could."

The Cherries made four changes for the game but their 'keeper felt playing behind a settled back four made his job more straight forward.

"I played with Charlie Daniels, Simon Francis and Steve Cook in League One and I know their games, which I feel helped a lot," he said.

"It's always hard going into a defence that you don't know and luckily I went into a back four that I know very well.

"We got a point, we would have liked to have won but on the whole I think it was a fair result."

With regular goalkeeper Artur Boruc going down late with injury, Allsop talked through finding out he would be starting, and how that affected his build up to the game.

"I was sitting on the coach yesterday and I saw Artur get in his car and drive off and I think he'd hurt his knee," Allsop explained. "I then put two and two together and thought I would be starting.

"I didn't alter my preparation too much, the mental aspect of knowing that I was going to start is only a minor thing. I always have to prepare just in case I am called upon."

I eased into the game and grew in confidence.
