Ref watch: Taylor to referee at Anfield

Anthony Taylor has been appointed to take charge of AFC Bournemouth’s Premier League clash with Liverpool on Saturday.

The experienced Manchester-born official has refereed 214 games in the top flight and more than 1,600 in his career.

He was in the middle for Cherries’ last visit to Merseyside, booking Everton quintet Michael Keane, Kurt Zouma, Andre Gomes, Bernard and Richarlison in the Toffees’ 2-0 win last month.

Taylor also took charge of the Cherries’ Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat at Chelsea in December and when Eddie Howe’s team went down at Burnley in September.

A member of the Select Group of referees since 2010, Taylor has shown 107 yellow and three red cards in 33 matches in all competitions this season.

In 2015, he refereed the Community Shield final between Arsenal and Chelsea and the League Cup final between Chelsea and Tottenham.

Taylor will be assisted at Anfield by Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn, while Mike Dean is fourth official.
