Ref watch: East steps in for Wolves clash

Roger East will take charge of AFC Bournemouth’s Premier League clash with Wolves on Saturday – a change to the original appointment.

The Wiltshire-based official, who will make his third visit to Vitality Stadium this season, replaces Simon Hooper.

East was in the middle for the Cherries’ 4-0 win over Chelsea last month and for the 2-1 victory against Huddersfield in December.

He joined the Select Group of officials in 2013 after a successful spell as a Football League referee and has taken charge of 86 games in the top flight.

East, who has been on the National list since 2006, was on the line for the 2004 FA Cup final and refereed the 2012 League One play-off final between Huddersfield and Sheffield United.

He oversaw his first Premier League match between Swansea City and Sunderland in September 2012 before earning a permanent spot in the Select Group at the start of 2013/14.

East, who has taken charge of 394 games during his career, will be assisted at Vitality Stadium by Edward Smart and Richard West, while Graham Scott remains as fourth official.
