Radu links up with Cherries for 23/24 season

We are delighted to confirm the loan signing of goalkeeper Andrei Radu.

The Romania international arrives from Italian side Inter Milan for the 2023/24 season, with the Cherries holding an option to make the move permanent.

The 26-year-old is the club’s fourth arrival of the summer transfer window and will add strength to the club’s goalkeeping department.

Radu is an academy graduate at Inter Milan, making his debut in May 2016 in a Serie A fixture with Sassuolo.

He enjoyed loan spells Avellino and Genoa, with his move to the latter club made permanent in June 2018.

Radu played 52 times for Genoa, returning to Inter Milan on a permanent deal, winning the Serie A and Coppa Italia in 2020/21.

The shot-stopper spent last season on loan at Italian side Cremonese and French side Auxerre.

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told afcb.co.uk: “We’re pleased to welcome Andrei to the club for the forthcoming season.

“Andrei arrives with experience in Italy and France’s top divisions and he’ll provide strong competition to Neto and Darren Randolph.”

Supporters will get their first opportunity to see Andrei at Saturday’s home friendly with Atalanta. Tickets can be purchased here.
