AFC Bournemouth head to the La Manga Resort Club for a 12-day pre-season training camp this week.

Based in the region of Murcia, south-east Spain, the La Manga Resort spans 1,400 acres and combines exclusive accommodation with first-class professional sports facilities.

Home to a five-star hotel, three golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre and top of the range leisure facilities, the La Manga Resort has long been a popular training destination for many of the world’s top sporting teams.

In recent years Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, as well as the Spanish and English national teams, have made the La Manga Resort their pre and mid-season training base.

“Facilities-wise, I don’t think we will get better,” Eddie Howe told afcb.co.uk ahead of the training camp. “There are a huge array of things for us to do, to challenge them in different ways, which we will of course do.

“The main thing, though, is that the pitches and the football work will be of the highest quality.”

During the training camp AFC Bournemouth have two scheduled friendly fixtures, against Sevilla (Saturday 14th July) and Levante (Friday 20th July), both at the Pinatar Arena.
