Defender Marcos Senesi has become Scott Parker’s fifth summer signing, joining for an undisclosed fee from Feyenoord.

Born in the north-east Argentine city of Concordia, the 25-year-old began his professional football journey with San Lorenzo.

Senesi progressed to the Primera Division club’s senior side after seven years in Azulgrana’s youth set-up.

Making his debut in September 2016 against Club Atletico Patronato, the centre-back went on to make 70 appearances for San Lorenzo.

His impressive performances for the Argentine side then earned him a move to 15-time Dutch Eredivisie champions Feyenoord.

Over the following three seasons, Senesi went on to become a key player at De Kuip, earning the adoration of supporters and the nickname ‘El Gladiador’.

The 25-year-old made over 100 appearances for the Rotterdam-based club across domestic and European competitions.

On route to Feyenoord’s UEFA Conference League final defeat at the hands of AS Roma over the 2021/22 term, Senesi made five appearances in qualifying and a further 12 in the competition proper, scoring one goal.

With ten outings in the Europa League while in the Netherlands, too, the centre-back also made his Argentina debut against Estonia in June 2022.

He joins up with Parker’s Cherries squad with nine goals and seven assists in 116 games for Feyenoord, having also captained the side on 11 occasions.
