Pawson in the middle for Spurs clash

Craig Pawson will take charge of AFC Bournemouth’s final home game of the season against Premier League high-fliers Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Pawson was in the middle for this fixture when the Cherries claimed their only point against Spurs after drawing 0-0 at Vitality Stadium in October 2016.

The 40-year-old has refereed two Cherries game this season – the 4-2 win over Leicester in September and the 2-1 defeat by Arsenal in November.

Pawson, who has been a referee since 1993, made his Premier League debut in March 2013, having joined the Football League list in 2008/09.

In 2015, Pawson became the seventh referee from England to be selected on the FIFA International Referee List, allowing him to officiate Champions’ League, Europa League and international fixtures.

This season, he took charge of the Champions’ League group match between Monaco and Borussia Dortmund and the qualifier between Slavia Prague and Dynamo Kiev.

The Sheffield & Hallamshire FA referee’s domestic highlights include the 2012 League Two play-off final between Crewe and Cheltenham and the 2018 League Cup final between Manchester City and Arsenal.

Pawson will be assisted at Vitality Stadium by Ian Hussin and Darren Cann, while Simon Hooper is fourth official.
