One year on: Lewis Cook in numbers

From lifting the FIFA U-20 World Cup exactly one year ago today, to lifting the Toulon Tournament on Saturday, all via winning his first senior England cap, it's been quite a 12 months for Lewis Cook.

We chart the Cherries midfielder's year from the success in South Korea by picking out some of his big numbers for club and country.

2,238 – Premier League minutes played by Cook across the 2017/18 season – more than 400 minutes more than any other player who played in the under-20s World Cup.

5 – England under-21 caps won by Cook over the last year, the first of which was won in September at Vitality Stadium when a big crowd of 8,514 saw the Three Lions beat Latvia 3-0.

23 – Shots from Cook last season in the top-flight – though the midfielder still awaits his elusive first AFC Bournemouth goal.

67 – Amount of Premier League tackles from the midfielder last season, topping the Cherries’ charts, 14 ahead of player-of-the-season Nathan Ake who is second in the ranks.

71 – The time on the scoreboard at Wembley in March when Cook shook hands with Jesse Lingard to come onto the pitch for his full international debut and become AFC Bournemouth’s first ever senior England player.

28 – While Cook didn’t make Gareth Southgate’s final 23-man squad for the World Cup in Russia, which starts later this week, he was in the standby list of five players ready to come in if injury ruled-out any of the squad.

4 – Premier League assists for Cook in 2017/18, one of them the arrowed forward ball at Selhurst Park which Jermain Defoe magnificently volleyed over Julian Speroni to win goal of the month in December.
