Official FPL: Wilson delivers again

A superb 3-1 win over Southampton at St Mary’s last Friday meant it was a high-scoring week for AFC Bournemouth players in the Premier League’s fantasy football game.

Three different scorers meant that the points were spread amongst the team, while Aaron Ramsdale grabbed his fair share at the other end after a quick ball up field was capitalised on.

This week, we take a look at the standout performers and who could be a good bet for gameweek seven.

Wilson on fire

AFC Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson is surely a must in your Fantasy Premier League team this week after some fine performances recently

He is currently the ninth highest scoring player in the game with 40 points and sits just second in the table for players who don’t play for a top six team, Teemu Pukki the only man above him.

It may have taken him a short while to find the back of the net, but the England international has still come up with attacking returns in every gameweek, be it an assist or a goal.

Fresh from scoring four times in his last three games, Wilson also loves playing against West Ham and scored in both fixtures with the London outfit last season, not to mention netting his first Premier League hat-trick at Upton Park in 2015.

He’s certainly a popular player, with 10.8% of users backing him, and with a price of just £7.8 million he’s not a bad bet for the weekend.

Ramsdale in the dream team

He’s certainly making an impact between the sticks for the Cherries this season, but it was Aaron Ramsdale’s attacking prowess which saw him pick up ten points against Southampton last week.

The young ‘keeper provided an assist for Callum Wilson’s goal right at the death at St Mary’s, kicking long for the striker to make the most of a mistake at the back before finishing into an empty net.

That was enough to grant the England under-21 international ten points, six for the assist and three bonus points for a string of superb saves before, and as a result he was named in the dream team at the end of gameweek six.

At just £4.5 million, Ramsdale looks a steal and he is only owned by 0.7% of players on the game, meaning a good week for him could result in a good week for you.

Ake steps up from the back

A first goal of the season for Nathan Ake at St Mary’s saw him finish on eight points at the end of gameweek six, despite no clean sheet.

It’s not something uncommon for the central defender, who netted on four times in the Premier League across the 2018/19 campaign.

At just £4.9 million, it doesn’t break the bank to get Ake in your team and he’s started every top flight game for Eddie Howe’s side this season, so is certainly one to rely on for future weeks.
