Official FPL: Internationals impress

Eddie Howe confirmed in this morning’s press conference that Joshua King will miss the weekend’s game with Wolves after sustaining an injury while away on international duty with Norway.

But there are plenty of other options within the Cherries squad that could bolster your team in the forward’s absence, as well as ones to watch at the back too.

Our in-house Fantasy Premier League (FPL) expert has all you need to know ahead of Gameweek 13.

Harry Wilson in form…

The winger has enjoyed his opening couple of months in the Premier League, with four goals to his name already.

One of those came in our last fixture away at Newcastle, as he tucked away a well-worked corner routine to put the Cherries a goal up. While it wasn’t to be at St James’ Park that day, the 22-year-old can take confidence from the first-time finish.

Additionally, Wilson carried his goal-scoring form into the international break and netted Wales’ second goal in a crucial 2-0 win over Azerbaijan. He also featured for Ryan Giggs’ side against Hungary, as they secured qualification for next summer’s European Championships.

In FPL, he costs £6 million and has totalled 44 points so far, the fifth highest of any Bournemouth player. What’s also interesting is that Wilson is only owned by 3.1% of players on the game so a tidy points haul against Wolves could have big benefits for your team.

Danjuma a differential?

We’ve talked about King missing tomorrow’s game, but the manager also revealed this morning that Ryan Fraser will face a late fitness test to see whether he can partake in the fixture with Wolves.

It could open the door for a certain Arnaut Danjuma to come back into the squad, having started his first game of the season against Watford last month. During the match, the winger had a glorious chance to open the scoring, but was prevented by Ben Foster’s point-blank save.

The summer signing has featured in some respect in five of the Cherries’ last six games, so could be one to look at ahead of the weekend.

Danjuma costs £5.8 million in FPL and, interestingly, isn’t owned by a single user on the game, so should he perform well and bag a healthy points total then there won’t be many who profit from it.

At the back?

Once again, a couple of our defenders have shone on international duty over the last fortnight, with Nathan Ake even getting on the scoresheet.

The Dutch international netted for Holland and played 90 minutes in their 5-0 win over Estonia, while also keeping a clean sheet at the other end of the pitch.

He also came off the bench and helped his side qualify for the Euros in a 0-0 draw with Northern Ireland, again ensuring no goals were conceded for his efforts.

The 24-year-old hasn’t missed a minute of Premier League football this season, and costs just £5.1 million in FPL, so he is always a good bet for any team, let alone having just bagged over the international break.

Another man to keep an eye on is Chris Mepham. While the defender might not be currently getting the regular game time he’d like in the Premier League, he did keep two clean sheets and play every minute for Wales in last week’s two European Qualifiers.

He also already has a top-flight goal to his name this season, netting on the opening day against Sheffield United, meaning, at just £4.3 million, he could be one to watch.
