New Spurs stadium highlight for Surs

Andrew Surman smiles after getting off the club coach.

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

With the Cherries' fate for the 2018/19 Premier League season announced this morning, we got vice captain Andrew Surman's take on the release.

You can view our fixtures here, and sync them all directly to your desktop, tablet or phone by clicking here.

Which was the first fixture your eyes looked for?

The first one that sprung out was the Cardiff game on the first day. Being at home will hopefully enable us to get off to a good start to the season.

Starting off against a newly-promoted side is always dangerous. Cardiff have just come up from the Championship so are riding the crest of a wave going into the new stadium.

They'll be buzzing for the new season and it'll be a really tough game for us.

Away at Spurs and Old Trafford over Christmas, what do you make of that?

Playing any of the top six is difficult but we were unlucky not to pick up results away at both Spurs and Manchester United last season, so we have to take that belief into those games.

We'll have a good chance of getting something against those two if we're on our game.

What's your view on another April away day at St Mary's?

It's a similar time of the season as in the last couple of years. This season Southampton needed points and it turned out to a disappointing game for us but we'll see what the situation is then and I'm sure it'll be one the fans and us as players will relish.

Which of the new stadiums in the Premier League are you looking forward to playing at?

With the new teams coming up it'll be good for me to go back to Wolves, where I used to play.

I've always liked going to Fulham, it's more of an old-fashioned ground, quite tight and somewhere I've enjoyed playing at in the past.

Cardiff have a lovely stadium now and I think everyone will be excited to be going to Spurs' new stadium. From what you hear about it it's going to be one of the best in the world, so it promises to be a great away day for everyone.

We're away again on the final day, is that a negative?

Being away again's not necessarily a bad thing, hopefully by that point we'll have enough points and we'll be going into that game full of confidence.

Palace isn't easy place to go, but it's a good location for the fans to get to and we performed well there last season, so it's one we'll look forward to.
