Moore tips Hatters to join Cherries in top flight

Midas man Kieffer Moore fired AFC Bournemouth to a final-day victory and then tipped Luton Town to follow the Cherries to the Premier League.

Moore came off the bench to bag his fourth goal in as many games as Scott Parker’s team ended a momentous campaign with a 1-0 win over Millwall.

The 29-year-old was the toast of Vitality Stadium after netting the only goal against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday as the Cherries sealed promotion to the Premier League.

Moore’s winner against Millwall proved academic in the Lions’ pursuit of a play-off place with Luton holding their nerve to beat Reading thanks to a goal from former Cherries and Christchurch winger Harry Cornick.

Victory set up the Hatters for a two-legged semi-final with Huddersfield, while Forest will lock horns with Sheffield United, the Wembley victors on Sunday 29th May joining the Cherries in the top flight next season.

Asked which team he thought would prevail, Moore told afcb.co.uk: “I think it will be tight but I’m going for Luton. I know they are probably the outsiders but I fancy them.

“They’ve got a good squad mentally. I know a few of their players as well and, if they can really come together, which I’m sure they can, they’ve got every chance.”

Moore, a January recruit from Cardiff, suffered a broken foot on his Cherries debut against Birmingham, an injury which ruled him out for 11 weeks.

But since returning to action at the end of last month, the frontman has hit the ground running, following up his dramatic double in the 3-3 draw at Swansea with winners against Forest and Millwall.

“It’s been amazing,” said Moore. “What better way to sign off with a win and another goal.

“It’s gone better than I expected but, when I get in front of goal, I always back myself to score, I always have and always will.

“This team creates so many chances and it’s great to be on the end of them.

“We’re all so excited for the Premier League. We know what we can do and, if we play like we have, it will be a great season for us.”
