Match gallery: Cherries exit Emirates FA Cup

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth bowed out of the FA Cup after Abdul Fatawu netted a dramatic extra-time winner to seal victory for Leicester City at Vitality Stadium on Tuesday.

The teenage Ghana international curled a delightful left-foot shot into the top corner of the net to settle this fifth-round tie in favour of the Championship leaders.

Fatawu’s wonder goal dashed the Cherries’ hopes of reaching the quarter-finals for only the second time in their history.

There was little to separate the teams, although Yunus Akgün probably should have broken the deadlock when he went clean through four minutes from the end of normal time, the Turkey international blazing over the crossbar.

Marcos Senesi went close to breaking the deadlock for the Cherries five minutes into the second half when his curling cross-shot came back off the post.

And Romain Faivre came off the bench to curl an effort narrowly past the upright at the start of the second period of extra-time.
