Eddie Howe reflects on a positive week at the club with Everton away on Saturday the next Premier League challenge for his squad.

Ahead of the trip to Goodison Park, the Cherries chalked successive home wins against Brighton & Hove Albion, one in the league and one to secure Carabao Cup progression.

Howe used his pre-match press conference to talk through the week gone and the week to come.

On the two big wins against Brighton...

Winning is everything and I don't shy away from that even when we're losing. The players need to see that and the supporters as well want to see it.

The two wins in the last week have done us the world of good but now we need to continue that at Everton.

Every squad needs a boost from the feeling that you can win game. When you start the season with a run of defeats it's the worst possible time because you question yourself even more.

On first goals of the season for Jermain Defoe and Joshua King...

That's made it an even better week, Jermain getting his first goal back with us at the club was massive for him and for us.

Joshua wanted to get his season going so for him to score and us to progress in the Cup was very important for us.

On Everton's start to the season...

I'm not going to start predicting where they should finish. People overreact and they've had an incredibly tough start to the season. They have an outstanding manager, they recruited very well in the summer and they have some very good players.

They will be fine. You look at Wayne Rooney and you can't say they are less potent, Gylfi Sigurdsson as well. With the quality they have recruited they are a strong side.

I judge everybody halfway through the season and then you can start to say where team may or may not finish.
