Loan Watch: Five Cherries players in action as EFL kicks off

AFC Bournemouth’s loan players were in action as the EFL season kicked off this weekend.

Four of the Cherries’ loanees were in action in both the Football League and National League, here’s how they got on…

LEWIS GRABBAN (Sunderland)

Grabban was hugely influential as Sunderland earned a point against Derby on Friday night at the Stadium of Light.

The striker scored his first Black Cats goal to equalise Bradley Johnson’s effort for Derby, as he calmly slotted in a penalty before half-time.

Grabban went close to a winning goal for Sunderland, hitting the post with a lovely effort in the second half.

SAM SURRIDGE (Yeovil Town)

Striker Surridge made his professional debut as Yeovil Town had an opening day to forget.

They were beaten 8-2 away at Luton Town, with Surridge coming off the bench with 19 minutes to play, the 19-year-old will be hoping to make his mark in League Two.

RYAN ALLSOP (Blackpool)

Allsop started for the Tangerines as they faced last season's play-off finalists Bradford City.

The stopper was on the end of a 2-1 reverse at Valley Parade.

BEN WHITFIELD (Port Vale)

Whitfield was part of Vale’s 3-1 opening day win at Crawley Town, coming on for the final six minutes of the clash at Checkatrade.com Stadium.

JORDAN LEE (Torquay United)

Defender Lee came off the bench with 20 minutes to go as Torquay kicked off the National League season with a 0-0 draw at home to Tranmere Rovers.
