Lewis Cook helps England Under-20s start with World Cup win

Lewis Cook captained the England under-20s to a 3-0 win over holders Argentina to kick off their World Cup campaign in fine style.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave the Three Lions the lead at Jeonu World Cup Stadium in South Korea, England leading by a goal at the interval.

Newcastle's Adam Armstrong scored a second after the break and following a red card for Argentine Lautaro Martinez Dominic Solanke completed the scoring with a late penalty.

Bournemouth's Cook skippered the side to their first under-20s World Cup win since 1997 and played the full 90 minutes at the sold-out venue in Jeonju.

Elsewhere in the group, hosts South Korea scored a 3-0 win over Guinea, with the African side England's next opponents, again in Jeonju, on Tuesday (9am GMT kick off).
