Joshua King says it was always his plan to prolong his time with the Cherries after his new contract was announced yesterday.
After a landmark campaign in 2016/17, King has signed a new four-year deal with AFC Bournemouth.
After penning his contract, King told afcb.co.uk that committing his future to the club was an easy decision.
"I've been here for two years now and things have been going well for the club and for myself, committing myself to the club has been one of my aims since I came here," he said.
"I signed a new deal last season, I did well and now the club has rewarded me with a new contract.
"The manager's been brilliant with me since the day I set foot at the training ground. He's been honest in working with me, on and off the pitch, and I felt like this was home after a year and I still feel the same."
The Norway international's new deal comes in the wake of his highest scoring season to date, with King looking to bring his form into the current campaign after injury hampered his pre-season preparations.
"When you do well and score 16 goals in a Premier League season you just need to bring that confidence into the next season," King said.
"What I'm trying to do this season is to improve my goal tally, performances and improve as a player."
With eyes turned to the future, King is looking to be a key part as Bournemouth look to progress even further than their club-record top-flight finish last term.
"You're allowed to dream but you have to take things step-by-step," he said. "We finished 16th the season before last and we finished ninth last season. We've proved that we've bettered ourselves with each season.
"You can dream and two years ago if you had asked anyone outside this club whether Bournemouth could finish ninth I bet you 99.9% would have said we couldn't.
"But if you asked the gaffer and all the players here we would probably have said yes."
