International round up: King impresses

Over the weekend, AFC Bournemouth were represented across the world as a number of the first team squad were on international duty.

ENGLAND UNDER-21s

Aaron Ramsdale made his England under-21s debut as the Young Lions were in rampant form, beating Qatar 4-0 in the Toulon Tournament.

The result meant that Aidy Boothroyd's side progessed to the semi-finals, with Ramsdale solid on his debut keeping a clean sheet.

Lewis Cook also played 40 minutes for the team as an own goal accompanied by strikes from Ronaldo Vieira, Tammy Abraham and Adam Armstrong secured progression as the best second-placed team of the competition.

They will now face Scotland in Aubagne on Wednesday evening.

NORWAY

Joshua King was one of the heroes for Norway as they beat Iceland 3-2 in
Reykjavik.

The media lauded it as an unlikely win for the Norwegians against the team that head to Russia looking to make a stir at the World Cup.

King came on with 19 minutes remaining and made a big impact in the World Cup warm up game.

In the 80th minute the striker showed his lethal touch, tackling the goalkeeper before slotting into the net with great composure.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Harry Arter came on for the Republic of Ireland with eight minutes to go against the USA at the Aviva Stadium.

Bobby Wood scored the opener for the States before Graham Burke and Alan Judge both scored in John O'Shea's send off match.

It was the Irish's first win since October.
