Scott Parker has revealed that Jordan Zemura will miss the weekend's two fixtures against Middlesbrough and Coventry City.

The left-back was forced off after 89 minutes in last Saturday's goalless draw against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane and has consequently been for scans this week.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the head coach discussed the latest on Zemura and admitted that the injury didn't appear as bad as first feared.

"Jordan of course came off against Sheffield United," began Parker.

"He wont make Friday or Monday, but scan reports aren't as bad as we initially thought which is pleasing.

"We'd like to think that we can have him back before the end of the season but, as for these games, he wont be making them.

"In terms of Junior Stanislas and Kieffer Moore, they're both progressing in right direction on the training ground, but they're still not in contention for the coming games."

Parker continued to discuss the importance of the whole squad, as Emiliano Marcondes, James Hill and Gavin Kilkenny all got minutes for the development side in a friendly with Fulham earlier this week.

The head coach believes it's crucial to keep the squad fit for the run in, with seven games to come in very quick succession.

"It's very important to ensure we have a fit squad.

"It's a squad of players and the most important thing is, whether it's one game or two games or however many games, when you get your opportunity, you need to be at the levels where we currently sit at.

"You also need to be ready for the level of game that we're going to be going into. You need to make sure that you're at a physical and mental level where you can come in and perform.

"Them three boys played because of that and to get some game time, it was good for them to get 90 minutes.

"In terms of the other boys who aren't in the squad, they're all working hard and waiting for their opportunity and i'm sure that will come because there's so many games."
