AFC Bournemouth have confirmed the permanent signing of Dominic Solanke from Liverpool.

We had a look at the England under-21 international's career to date, with a full selection of images above.

Early years (2004-15)

Born in Reading and schooled in Basingstoke, Solanke joined Chelsea in 2004 and enjoyed a fruitful career in the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge.

One of his most memorable highlights was netting twice to help the Blues win the FA Youth Cup in 2014 after seeing off west London rivals Fulham 7-6 on aggregate.

Rewarded with his first professional contract by manager Jose Mourinho in September 2014, he was named in the Chelsea matchday squad for the first time in the Premier League just a month after his 17th birthday.

And three days after being an unused substitute in their 2-1 win at Crystal Palace in the top flight, Solanke became Chelsea’s youngest player to debut in the Champions League when he came off the bench in a 6-0 victory over NK Maribor.

Solanke was the leading marksman in the group stages of the UEFA Youth League, his 12 goals helping the Blues to victory in the competition.

He was on target as Chelsea retained the FA Youth Cup by registering a 5-2 aggregate victory over Manchester City in the final and capped a fine campaign by winning the Blues academy player-of-the-year award.

Vitesse loan (2015-16)

Solanke hit seven goals in 25 games during a beneficial season-long loan stay with Vitesse in the Dutch Eredivisie.

His goals came in victories over Cambuur, FC Groningen (three in two wins), PEC Zwolle, Excelsior and FC Twente as Vitesse finished ninth, one place outside the European competitions qualification spots.

Liverpool move (2016-18)

Retained as Chelsea’s third-choice striker behind Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi under Antonio Conte, Solanke did not feature for his club during 2016-17.

He joined Liverpool in July 2017 following the expiry of his contract at Chelsea – with the clubs finally agreeing a transfer fee some 12 months later.

Solanke made 27 appearances during his first season at Anfield, including 21 in the Premier League, and scored his maiden goal in their 4-0 win over Brighton on the final day.

Internationals

Solanke has represented England at all age group levels and won his first full cap when he came off the bench as a 75th-minute substitute in a 0-0 draw against Brazil at Wembley in November 2017.

He was awarded the Golden Ball (player of the tournament) as the Young Lions – skippered by AFC Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook – won the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in June 2017.

Solanke scored four times in the tournament, including the only goal in the quarter-final victory against Mexico and twice in the semi-final triumph over Italy. He started the final against Venezuela.

He also helped England win the 2014 European Under-17 Championship and was named as his country’s youth player of the year for 2014.
