As we welcome Nathan Ake back to Vitality Stadium we review the numbers from his career in the game so far.
3 - Born in The Hague, Ake played for three Dutch sides in his youth. As a child he started off at neighbourhood club VV Wilhelmus, joined the local professional side ADO Den Haag at nine and moved to Feyenoord at age 12.
17 - Ake is a two-time European champion, in the Netherlands squads that won the UEFA European Under-17 Championships in 2011 and 2012.
16 - Chelsea had already tried to sign Ake before they claimed the 16-year-old’s signature and he made the move to London from Feyenoord; a Premier League debut followed at 17.
12 - The Cherries’ new signing made 12 appearances in total in his Vitality Stadium loan move last season, ten in the Premier League and two in the EFL Cup.
68 - The defender earned fully 68 caps for the Netherlands at youth level, starting off as a 14-year-old with the under-15s.
4 - The 22-year-old has netted four career goals – and his three for Bournemouth last term gained Eddie Howe’s men an extra four points.
2 - Ake has two full international caps, having played the June friendly with Morocco for the Oranje and coming off the bench in the World Cup qualifier with Luxembourg three days later. Previously, Ake was also eligible to play for Ivory Coast.
