Howe - We deserved the late leveller

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe felt his side's late leveller, albeit controversial, was deserved as the Cherries drew 3-3 with West Ham United.

The boss however was disappointed his side didn't win after a dominant second-half display.

Despite everything that went on, he was also pleased with the number of positives and told the press...

ABOUT THE LATE EQUALISER...

I didn't think it would be given with the length of conversation between the officials. It looks like we might have got away with one there.

It is tight, but once the conversation started I didn't think given. I know it will be difficult to take for West Ham but we deserved it.

ON THE PERFORMANCES...

We were definitely much more like ourselves, we were working the goalkeeper and the fight was strong in the team. We're bitterly disappointed not to have won.

There were big performances and I've not said that a lot this season, Lewis Cook and Dan Gosling were excellent. The team shaped up well and we looked creative.

There were good signs for sure, although I wish we'd been more clinical!

ON ASMIR BEGOVIC AND NATHAN AKE...

Asmir's slip is a difficult one for me, what can you say? At that stage we're 2-1 up and peppering their goal with opportunities.

That moment changes the feeling of the game, psychologically it hurt as we were looking comfortable at that time.

The players managed to find a goal we deserved, and from that position we take a point.

It was good to see Nathan score at the other end, he scored soe important goals for us last year and it's great to see him pop up again.
