Cherries manager Eddie Howe wants his side to build on Friday's win over Brighton & Hove Albion with a second Seagulls win in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.

On the feeling in the squad after Friday’s win…

“You can’t underestimate the power of winning, that’s what we’re in the industry to do. It was a satisfying feeling and now we want to follow that up.

“To be able to enjoy the weekend was a nice feeling, the focus is now on the future and trying to back up that victory.”

On Jordon Ibe's progress after his Brighton performance...

“He’s shown glimpses but this time we’ve seen more end product in terms of assists, he’s got great potential but the challenge is for him to find some consistency and making sure he’s at his best every day.

“I think people forget how young he is because he's been around the game for some years. We think he’s got a very exciting future ahead of him.

“We want Jordon to be a regular first team player, he has the tools to do it and he has to put that together on a consistent basis."

On the importance of the Carabao Cup match...

“We want to win the game for sure, we have to manage the squad effectively so we will open the door to giving several players opportunities in this game.

“I have no doubts about the quality of the players being brought in, so we’ll continue to do what we do."

On the challenge posed by the visiting Seagulls...

“We’ll have to wait and see about their squad for the game, they are very similar to us in that you can change the personal but the principles behind the team will be much the same. In terms of individuals we’ll be ready for anything.

“Brighton will come here and want to win, as we do. We know we’re paying a Premier League team and it won’t be easy, we want to be keeping our momentum through this game."

On the potential of tasting cup success with the Cherries...

“It would be nice, I’m not going to lie. Winning a competition would be historic for the club.

"We always focus on the next game, regardless of the competition. It’s early stages now and we need to focus on getting past Brighton.”
