Eddie Howe has addressed the media following this afternoon’s 3-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

A brace from Callum Wilson, either side of a David Brooks strike, sealed the victory as the Cherries now move on to 20 points after ten games.

Following the game, Howe spoke on the following points in his post-match press conference.

The performance…

I’m very pleased today. I thought that we were very good in most disciplines. Without the ball, we restricted them to few chances and we had to be patient, we were good with the ball and also good on the counter-attack too.

They had a lot of the ball at times, but our positioning and mentality was good. The second goal was a big moment and I think it was key in the game.

We changed system today, it was a challenge and the players adapted well. It was a blow to miss Joshua King, but Callum Wilson got us two goals today and we really needed it.

The individuals…

David Brooks was excellent, especially for someone so young and relatively new to the club. He ot another goal and he’s in a good place so today will be good for his confidence.

Callum Wilson’s mentality is one where he isn’t a quitter. In training, he gives his best and he’s a true professional. He’s worked very hard and mentally he is strong. He always gets chances; the team function well for him and he functions well for the team.

The start to the season…

Its been a great start, I’m really pleased with how the players have done this season. We’re in a good place and confidence is high but we can’t look too far ahead. We go into a cup game on Tuesday and then into a big one with Manchester United next weekend.

The expectation I place on myself every season is very high. I’m very pleased, but there’s still a long way to go.
