"He doesn’t get the recognition he deserves"

AFC Bournemouth head coach Scott Parker said he doesn’t believe winger Jaidon Anthony gets the credit he deserves after another star showing for the Cherries.

The 22-year-old’s only experience of senior football prior to this season was a short loan spell with Weymouth and a handful of brief substitute experiences.

Nonetheless, Anthony has established himself as a key member of Parker’s squad and netted his eighth goal in the win over Huddersfield Town this afternoon, adding to his six assists.

Speaking to afcbTV following the game, Parker expressed his delight with his young winger: “I say it constantly, he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.

“I don’t know many wingers who have produced those numbers and what he can produce, out of possession, the work he puts in is phenomenal.

“A lovely goal he scored, it’s a difficult finish that, a good position and recognising the way we’ve played and where the ball is going to end up and then he’s put the detail on the finish to score the goal. I’m very pleased for Jaidon.”

The Cherries head coach was also very complimentary of the performance of Dominic Solanke, who was one of the stand-out individuals at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Solanke set up Anthony for the opening goal before playing a key role in Jefferson Lerma’s second, finally netting one himself – a beautiful backheel within a minute of the second half.

Parker said: “I’d be very reluctant to single out any individuals, the boys on the bench, the squad that travelled today, the players that started but Dom – the goals are there for everyone to see, I think he was involved in all three goals today.

“He’s a driving force at times, he’s the guy that at the end of every move we want to try and get finishing the ball because he’s the most clinical in our team.

“He was well worthy of his goal and I’m very pleased for him.”
