Gosling wins Player of the Month

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Dan Gosling has won the Michael Matthews Player of the Month away for December.

In a month that saw the Cherries play seven fixtures, Gosling made his first start of the season in a memorable 1-0 win away at Chelsea.

To add to the occasion, it was his goal that gave Eddie Howe's side all three points, after a VAR call ruled him onside following a tense wait.

Keeping his place in the team, he then bagged his second of the month on Boxing Day, scoring the opener in a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Vitality Stadium.

Gosling was up for the accolade alongside Jack Stacey, Jefferson Lerma and Chris Mepham, winning the vote with 38.1%.

The midfielder will now pick up his award from representatives of Michael Matthews ahead of the FA Cup clash with Luton on Saturday.
