Dan Gosling is looking for a return to Bournemouth’s fluent attacking play after his side lost away at Arsenal.
Still yet to gain a Premier League point this campaign, Gosling told afcbTV that the Cherries squad will refocus their efforts ahead of Friday’s home match with Brighton & Hove Albion.
“We need to bounce back,” the midfielder said. “Brighton’s coming up to a must-win game at the moment, we need to get our season up and running now with this home game – the boys were unlucky against Man City, but we can’t keep saying that because against Arsenal we were nowhere near it.
“Next week every single man has to be better, stand up and be counted for.”
Bournemouth failed to have a shot in the first half at the Emirates Stadium and the 27-year-old wants a rapid return to the attacking play his squad have become renowned for in the top flight.
“We’ve been working in a lot of attacking play in the, you could see a little bit of that, but we still need to do better in those areas and as a team with attacking as well,” he said.
“We’ve gone away from passing the ball and we need to get back to that, that’s our trademark and what we do every day. We need to get back to that.”
Despite the slow start, Gosling wants his team-mates to keep their chins raised ahead of the Seagulls’ visit to Vitality Stadium.
“Everyone needs to stay positive we can’t be sulking and dwelling on this result,” he said. “We need to be looking forward to Friday with a positive attitude, a positive mentality and get on the training ground starting to work harder.”
